‘Winter Sea’ is part of a series of relief prints investigating the fragility of flooded landscapes and the lost villages along the Norfolk coast — a low-lying, vulnerable region shaped by transience, loss, and the ever-present threat posed by the North Sea. This piece evokes not only memories of what once was, but also reflects on the present moment and the inevitability of what the sea may yet claim.
The process begins with drawings made in response to a location. In this instance along the Norfolk seawall near my home on the coast.
